Description

The APM 2.8 Flight Controller is a reliable, open-source autopilot system used for DIY multirotors, fixed-wing aircraft, rovers, and boats. It supports classic ArduPilot firmware, GPS waypoint missions, and full Mission Planner configuration, making it useful for training, legacy rebuilds, and educational UAV projects.

This board includes onboard sensors, data logging, and selectable magnetometer options. You can use the internal compass (default) or switch to an external GPS/compass module by removing the MAG jumper. It also features multiple I/O options, telemetry support, and a standard form factor that fits common 450–650 class builds.

Each unit is handled and inspected in our Upstate NY shop, and customers in the USA can request professional setup, wiring, and tuning for their specific airframe. We also offer full custom build services if you want a ready-to-fly platform configured, tested, and calibrated before it ships.

Important Notes

APM 2.8 uses classic ArduPilot firmware and does not support new ArduPilot versions.

Best for learning, legacy platforms, and low-cost projects.

For commercial or advanced applications, Pixhawk-class controllers are recommended.
