Drone Repair FAQ

How much does drone repair cost?

Every repair starts with our $50 comprehensive diagnostic evaluation. After that you get a firm, itemized quote before any billable work. Technician labor is $75/hr; most common repairs land well under the cost of a replacement drone.

How long does a typical drone repair take?

Turnaround depends on the fault and parts availability, but most repairs are completed within days of your approval, not weeks. You will always know the timeline before we start.

Do you repair DJI drones?

Yes, select DJI services including Phantom series repairs and calibration help. See all of our DJI drone maintenance services. Our deepest specialty is Yuneec, where we are one of the last dedicated U.S. repair resources.

Do I have to be local to use your drone repair services?

No. We are based in NY, USA and accept shipped-in drones from anywhere in the country. Pack it well, include a short note describing the issue, and we will confirm receipt when it arrives.

What if my drone cannot be repaired?

You will get an honest assessment. If a repair is not practical, we will tell you straight and discuss parts-salvage or replacement options instead of selling you work you do not need.

Do I need to register my drone with the FAA?

Most drones over 0.55 lbs must be registered, and commercial flights require Part 107 certification. See the FAA DroneZone for current rules.

How do I ship my drone to you?

Order the $50 comprehensive diagnostic evaluation first. You will get an email with the shipping address and packing instructions. Pack it well, include a short note with your name and the issue, and we will confirm receipt when it arrives.

What does the $50 diagnostic cover?

A full bench evaluation: fault isolation, flight controller and GPS checks, gimbal and camera testing, and software work. After the diagnostic you get a firm, itemized quote before any billable repair.

Do I approve the repair before you start?

Yes. Parts are estimated before the repair and labor is billed after. No billable work happens without your approval.

What parts do you use?

Quality replacement parts. We stock common Yuneec parts and source what we do not carry. Every part is listed on your itemized quote before work begins.

Which models do you service?

Yuneec Typhoon H, H Plus, H520, Q500, Breeze, and Mantis Q, plus select DJI models and custom builds. See the model breakdown above.

Do your repairs carry a warranty?

All Yuneec repairs carry a warranty within reason. Everything is handled on a case by case basis, and most complaints are resolved. We have yet to have an unresolved issue.

Can I still update the firmware on my Typhoon H? The update screen says it can’t connect to the server.

Yuneec’s update servers are shut off, so the in-app updater is dead. The only way to update now is manually with an SD card, and the drone, gimbal, and ST16 each need their own files. It’s risky, especially on the ST16, and easy to end up with a half-flashed controller and a bigger problem than you started with.
That’s why I update every drone that comes in to the latest and final released firmware before it goes back. You never have to touch it.

Proudly serving NY, USA & the Adirondack region with reliable, professional UAV repair and custom technology integration. Not sure what’s wrong? Start with our $50 comprehensive diagnostic evaluation.
