A: This isn’t legal advice, but in general, homeowners can install cameras on their own property. Keep cameras pointed at your own property, and be careful with audio recording — New York has rules about recording conversations. Q: Should I install cameras myself or hire someone?
A: If it’s one WiFi camera by the front door, DIY is fine. Once you’re running cable through walls, mounting cameras two stories up, or wiring a detached garage, hiring someone saves you a weekend and a ladder fall. My installs also come with a walkthrough so you actually know how to use the system.
Q: Do you offer a monthly monitoring plan?
A: No monthly contract. You own the system outright. Your footage records to your NVR, and remote viewing is included in the setup.
