Description
A UV filter is cheap insurance for your CGO3 or CGO3+ camera. It mounts on the front of the lens and takes the hits instead of the glass: dust, fingerprints, prop-wash grit, and the occasional branch. If the filter gets scratched, you replace the filter, not the camera.
It also cuts atmospheric haze. UV light scatters more at altitude, which washes out distant detail in aerial footage. A UV filter trims that haze for cleaner horizons and truer colors in 4K video and stills.
Leave it on full time. It lives on the lens as a permanent protector and stays out of the way in normal shooting.
